LINCOLN TRAIL CLASSIC

The 29th running of the Lincoln Trail Classic took place Saturday, September
17, 2005 as part of the festivities surrounding the annual Autumn Fest in
Marshall, Illinois. The over-all male and female winners were Jimmy O'Neal of
Brazil, Indiana with a time of 18:01 and Menzie Maurer, of Marshall,
Illinois with a time of 20:09. The winners were presented a gold medal and a
gift certificate from Pacesetter Sports.
In addition to these awards the LTC also hands out a gold medal to the person
who finishes in the "Middle of the Pack." This year's award was
presented to ten year old Derek Braun of West Terre Haute who was the 34th
person to cross the finish line out of 67 runners. This is Derek's second year
in a row finishing the race dead center.
Other runners completing the 5K (3.1 mile) course that ran through the city
streets of Marshall along with their ages, and their finishing times were: Nick
