The Wabash Valley Road Runners Club Points Series is comprised of our Club’s six events: Swamp Stomp, Fast Track Mile, Midnight River Run, "Blues At The Crossroads" Half Marathon, Indiana Fall Classic and Christmas in the Park. Your club membership qualifies you for points in the Series.
Points are earned by running, walking or volunteering in one of the above club events. Points are only awarded for participating in the primary event. Participation in 1 mile (except for Fast Track), fun runs, etc. do not earn points. To be eligible for an award you must run, walk or volunteer in at least 4 of the events. To be eligible for an award you must volunteer in at least one of the 4 events.
Points for volunteering will be as follows: 20 points for your first event and 10 points for each subsequent event.
Age groups will be in 5 year increments. Points will be awarded as follows: 20 points for first in your age group, 19 for 2nd, 18 for 3rd, 17 for 4th, etc. For the Children's Point Series they will be assigned a participation mark. Children cannot qualify for both the Children's Point Series and the Adult Point Series. The Children's Point Series is for children ages 4 - 12 years of age.
Walkers must notify the point’s series chairman that they intend to walk in all the events they wish to earn points in. If not they will be counted as a runner.
Participants can not earn points for both volunteering and racing at the same event.
Points will be posted to the age group that you qualified for in your first Points Series event for the year. If during the year you move into another age group, your points will go to the group you started with.
In case of a tie, the following will be used: The person who has the most head to head victories against a tied competitor will be awarded the prize. If there is still a tie, the winner of the last head to head meeting will be declared the winner.
Awards will be presented to the top 3 finishers in each age division at the Annual Awards Banquet. Gifts will be given to all members who have Participated in at least 4 events one of which must be as a volunteer. Special gifts will be presented to individuals who have run, walked or volunteered in all 6 Club events.
